Every parent feels overwhelmed at times. Whether it’s your first child or your fourth. Whether your child is 6 months old or 16 years old. Every parent needs support at some time in their lives.

Parents who have a complex background—living in poverty, have experienced trauma, are dealing with the criminal justice system, or are in a difficult stage of life—sometimes need a little extra support.

Any Baby Can’s Family Education Program includes a variety of parenting classes to guide first-time and experienced parents through the journey of parenthood. These classes give parents the tools, skills and confidence to raise a healthy family.

At the heart of these classes is the family-centered and trauma-informed Nurturing Parenting approach. The Nurturing Parenting Program is an evidence-based model designed to build parenting skills. The curriculum is based on research and documented practices proven to increase positive parenting behaviors such as parents’ sense of self-worth, attachment, empowerment and appropriate disciplinary practices.

Each week, Any Baby Can’s certified instructors teach lessons and prepare activities that students can replicate with their kids. We work with parents to be proactive, confident and effective role models for their children.

Nurturing Parenting class topics include:

  • Positive parenting skills
  • Age-appropriate developmental expectations
  • Managing stress
  • Setting rules and creating routines
  • Communicating with family, kids and partners
  • Praising your child

The class can empower any parent looking to update and improve their parenting skills. Any Baby Can provides free parenting classes in English and Spanish, often with free childcare.
